Common questions about our therapy services

FAQs

What is therapy, and how does it work?

Therapy (also called counseling or psychotherapy) is a collaborative process where you work with a trained professional to address emotional challenges, mental health concerns, or life transitions. It involves talking, building insight, and learning tools to cope, grow, and feel better.

How do I know if I need therapy?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, sad, or just not yourself, therapy can help. It’s also helpful for managing stress, navigating relationships, or working through trauma or past experiences.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is about getting to know each other. Your therapist will ask questions about your concerns, history, and goals. It’s a chance to share what brings you in and to see if it’s a good fit.

How long does therapy take?

It varies. Some people feel better in a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. Your therapist will work with you to set goals and review progress regularly.

Is everything I say in therapy confidential?

Yes, with a few legal exceptions (like if someone is in danger). Your privacy is a top priority, and your therapist will explain confidentiality in more detail at your first session.

Do you offer virtual/online therapy?

Yes, we offer secure and confidential tele-therapy sessions. It’s a convenient option for those with busy schedules, health concerns, or preference for remote care.

How do I pay for therapy? Do you take insurance?

We accept many insurance plans and offer private pay options. We’ll help you understand your benefits and any out-of-pocket costs before you begin.

What kinds of therapy do you offer?

We offer individual tele-therapy for adults age 18+. We use evidence-based approaches like CBT, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness.

What should I do if I need help outside of session hours or in an emergency?

Our practice does not offer 24/7 crisis services. If you’re in immediate danger or need urgent help, please:

    •    Call 911 or go to the nearest ER

    •    Dial 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

    •    Text HOME to 741741 for the Crisis Text Line

For non-urgent issues, feel free to leave a message—we’ll get back to you during business hours.

What if I don’t connect with my therapist?

That’s okay—it happens. We encourage open communication, and we’re happy to help you find someone else who may be a better fit.

Feel informed. Feel supported.
